Have you ever taken a swim in your pool at night? If not, then you are missing out. But to have the perfect night time experience you will need the best swimming pool light you can afford. With all the choices available on the market today there is no reason why you shouldn’t have pool lights for night time.

With all the things to keep in mind when choosing your swimming pool lights, safety should be your first priority. There are many types of lighting such as LED, fiber optic, solar, and standard. No matter what you choose, for your night time lighting you should choose something that gives enough light to see where you are going but not so bright that you feel like you are at a night time baseball game.

The Spa Brite brand of lighting is usually a lower wattage system that should be used for smaller pools or used to accent the bigger lights on bigger swimming pools. One of the most common things to do is to have powerful lights submerged in the deep end of the pool. However, in more recent times people have been using a lot of smaller lights in cool patterns and designs.

Another craze is submersible solar lights. These lights actually have a wire that leads to a solar panel above ground. So there is a bit of planning that is involved but it can save you some money over the long run. Personally I don’t find that these lights hold enough energy to keep my pool light all night. I’m sure you could find a solar swimming pool light that has on and off switches and with batteries, but for now I really prefer to have the traditional submersible electric lighting systems.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to make sure that you get your lighting installations right the first time. There are some installations that can be modified slightly afterwards but it won’t be as flexible as you might think. So you should spend some time with a pool expert looking over various options for your particular situation.

During the day time you won’t need to use a swimming pool light and can let the sun do its job. But when night rolls around, you will want to showcase your pool the best way possible, not only for yourself but for friends and family too.
